The hair of 2010

So it has been quite some time since I last made a post on this blog. Not to say that I havent been busy writing and such. I just had a change of hair plans for 2010.
Needless to say I still love my locks and after a year without them I made my way back.
so here are a few pictures of my hair from 2010.

I spent a small fortune in products to keep my curls manageable and what a project everyday...but I must say a worthy cause!
so I started using a homemade concoction I like to call "CLK lola" based on the "cherry Lola" treatment. My special mix helped tame my frizz and make my curls form great ringlets. The more I used it the less frizz and more loose my curls became. If your interested in what I used be sure to like my blog and ask me questions!

Time for change after 2 years loc'd

I have had such a loving and beautiful experience with my natural hair journey. But now I find myself bored. Time for change, so click the video to find out whats up next!

Also Here is a video blog I did on my YouTube page. I still agree 100% but I just needed a personal change. I did find another job!

Lil girls grow up to be natural: my loc journey in pics!

This is a mix of old to the new. A couple of pics of my hair before as a child, then with the Relaxed hair, braided hair and the final destination of lovely locs that I started myself with the Do it yourself interlocking method. (sisterlocs, braidlocs, microlocs, nappylocs)
enjoy!

loc'd!!! but what to do with it and 6 inches of relaxed hair

I wore it like this to work! lol

After 4 days labor, serious eye and shoulder cramps, I can say that I am now Officially the mother of locs!

So this is what it looks like. I am in the gym so much that I sweat, not glisten,! So my hair is at least going to be presentable , but not as stylish as It will be!!

As you can see in the back pictures just how much relaxer I still have to deal with.
As a Hairstylist here is my P.O.A. (Plan Of Action)

  • Take extra special care of my thrashed Relaxer ends! I switched to WEN for cleansing. It is a product created by another stylist. I use the fig one. Smells great, gives my hair what it needs. It has no harsh chemicals in it that would strip the hair of oils, yet it has astringent like qualities. Check this stuff out!
  • Be a label Reader till the day I die! Always make quality choices as to what I put in and on my head
  • soak up as much as I can about natural hair care and locs. Network, network and Network some more!
  • Never look back or fall of the Natural wagon! We gone ride this till the wheels fall off!

For the First 3 pics style I simply made a bunch of little braids all over and then set the ends with a roller. I am so not used to short hair. But it is a cute look!

Days later :
For the Last two, I actually used a large Curling Iron for a quick
style for the night out! FOR THE LAST TIME EVER! I get tons of complements lately
